Kerur, Nov. 15: Birsa Munda Jayanti was celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Kerur. Students and the Principal spoke about Birsa Munda.
Born on Nov. 15 in Jharkhand, Birsa Munda was a leader of the Schedule Tribe rebellion and stood against the Christian missionaries, British colonial forces and the exploitation of tribal people by their land. At a young age, Birsa Munda united his community to fight against the British and landlords who were taking control of their land. Deeply understanding the roots of his culture, he was well aware of the struggle of his people against the loss of their traditions, displacement and injustice by the tribals. He saw the dream of his people living with dignity, respect and autonomy. Birsa Munda, who passed away at the age of 25, is remembered as ‘Dharti Aba’ or ‘Father of the Earth’.
ಕೆರೂರು, ನ. 15: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಕೆರೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿರ್ಸಾ ಮುಂಡಾ ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಬಿರ್ಸಾ ಮುಂಡಾ ಕುರಿತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.ನ. 15ರಂದು ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡನಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಬಿರ್ಸಾ ಮುಂಡಾ ಬಡಕಟ್ಟು ಬಂಡಾಯದ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕ್ರಿಶ್ಚಿಯನ್ ಮಿಶನರಿಗಳು, ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ವಸಾಹತು ಶಾಹಿ ಪಡೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಜನರ ಭೂಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶೋಷಣೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು. ಚಿಕ್ಕ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಿರ್ಸಾ ಮುಂಡಾ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿತಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರು ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಮಾಲೀಕರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೋರಾಡಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಮುದಾಯವನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸಿದರು. ತನ್ನ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಬೇರನ್ನು ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಜನಾಂಗದವರು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ, ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ತಮ್ಮ ಜನರ ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅರಿತಿದ್ದರು. ತನ್ನ ಜನರು ಘನತೆ, ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾಯತ್ತತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬದುಕುವ ಕನಸನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.25 ನೇ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಧನರಾದ ಬಿರ್ಸಾ ಮುಂಡಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ‘ಧರ್ತಿ ಅಬಾ’ ಅಥವಾ ‘ಭೂಮಿಯ ತಂದೆ’ ಎಂದು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
