Keruru, D. 28: National Poet Kuvempu Jayanti was celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Kerur. On the occasion of Kuvempu’s birth anniversary, Kumari Samriddhi Mugali delivered a speech regarding the life and accomplishments of Kuvempu, renowned by his poetic name. He was distinguished for being the recipient of the first Jnanpeeth Award for the Kannada language. Sri Ramayana Darshanam is the work that won the Jnanpeeth award. He served as the president of the 39th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, was a prominent poet of the 20th century, a towering figure of intellect, and a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan Award as well as the Karnataka Ratna Award. She spoke about Kuvempu saying that he had won the Pampa award. Student Kumari Dhanya delivered a melodious rendition of the Kannadamana Harake poem by Kevempu.
ಕೆರೂರು, ಡಿ. 28: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಕೆರೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕವಿ ಕುವೆಂಪು ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕುಮಾರಿ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ ಮುಗಳಿ ಕುವೆಂಪುರವರ ಜಯಂತಿಯ ಕುರಿತು ಕುವೆಂಪು ಅವರ ಜೀವನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಧನೆಗಳು ಕುವೆಂಪು ಎಂಬ ಕಾವ್ಯನಾಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತರಾದ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲ ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಹಿರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವರು. ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಾಯಣ ದರ್ಶನಂ ಎಂಬ ಕೃತಿಯು ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕೃತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. 39ನೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದರು 20ನೇ ಶತಮಾನ ಕಂಡ ದೈತ್ಯ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ವರ ಕವಿ ಪದ್ಮವಿಭೂಷಣ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರತ್ನ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ. ಪಂಪ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಕುವೆಂಪು ಅವರ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಳು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಕುಮಾರಿ ಧನ್ಯ ಕುವೆಂಪುರವರು ರಚಿಸಿರುವಂತಹ ಕನ್ನಡಮ್ಮನ ಹರಕೆ ಪದ್ಯವನ್ನು ರಾಗಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡಿದಳು.
